Many standard box styles can be identified in three ways: by a descriptive name, by an acronym based on that name, or by an international code number known as the International Fibreboard Case Code system. There are so many corrugated box styles, it’s impossible to list them all here. This sampling gives you a good idea for the range of possibilities; plus, keep in mind that corrugated boxes can be custom designed to meet most any need.

How to measure a box

Box dimensions are given in the sequence of length, width, depth (internationally, the terms length, breadth, and height may be used). Looking at the opening of an assembled box, the longer of the two parallel sides is the length; the shorter is the width. The side perpendicular to length and width is the depth. Dimensions can be specified for either the inside or outside the box.
